This month, we’ve decided to skip the theme altogether, and leave it entirely up to you.  Portraits, abstracts, landscapes… whatever! Entries are open to all artists of any level and can be in any medium.  The purpose of this contest is to encourage creativity in our customers and to allow you a chance to expose your art to the general public.  Join us for the opening reception where you can help promote your artwork to the public and maybe make a little money too!  Prizes will be awarded during the opening reception on March 6th, 2010.   All the proceeds of artwork sales will go directly to you.  Entries will be taken on a first come, first served basis, and will be limited to two entries per artist. Eligibility:-        Artwork must be ready to hang when submitted.  -        Open to all artists of any level.-        Submissions must have been created in the last 5 years.-        Artwork must be no larger than 11”x14” (including framing and matting).-        Artwork must be appropriate for all ages.-        Artwork must be hand delivered by the artist, no shipped or emailed entries.-        All artwork submitted must be original (no copies or giclees). 

Submission Guidelines:-        Artists may submit up to two entries with a non-refundable entry fee of $5 per entry. (check, cash, or credit cards – no money orders) -        Actual artwork is to be submitted to
Utrecht Art Supplies during normal store hours from Feb.21st,2010 - March 5th, 2010. Artwork will hang from March 6th - March 20th.-        You will be supplied with entry forms when you drop off your artwork.  -        Each piece needs to have a sale price or be marked “NFS” (not for sale) on the entry form. -       
Utrecht reserves the right to refuse any and all submissions that do not adhere to official entry guidelines.   Prizes:-        There will be three prizes given out during the opening reception.  -        First place: $25

We  can’t have an art show without art!  there’s still time to submit your work for our Winter Portrait show; the show will run from Feb. 6th (Gallery Hop) until Feb. 20th.  It’s open to anyone and everyone.  There will be prizes for 1st place, 2nd place, and a community pick.  Stop in to pick up an entry form!

We’re taking down our Circus Show tomorrow, so we’ll be ready to accept entries for the Monster Mash Show on Sunday!

We now have Gamblin Etching Inks ! Robert Gamblin formulated these etching inks at the request of printmakers in the Pacific Northwest who wanted strong reliable inks for edition printing. Because of their high pigment load, Gamblin Etching Inks are a much better value than lower priced etching inks which are full of extenders. Inks are available in 300 ml cans, and we have 13 colors, plus the Transparent Base.
